WICT Atlanta Receives Second Consecutive Chapter of the Year Honors

Atlanta, Georgia - Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Atlanta Chapter today proudly announced it received honors as Chapter of the Year and Best Chapter Programming of the Year during the WICT Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC) on January 15 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Under the strong leadership of 2007 Chapter President, Stacie Buckley, the Atlanta Chapter received the coveted Chapter of the Year award for the second year in a row. Atlanta chapter leaders in attendance celebrated with fellow CLC attendees and WICT President & CEO Benita Fitzgerald Mosley during the a reception and awards presentation.

“Receiving this honor for the second straight year is exceptionally fulfilling, since it demonstrates that the chapter is continuing to build on its success,” commented Stacie Buckley, WICT Atlanta 2007 President.  “This year, we added new programs and implemented alternate ways to engage members and supporters to continue to positively impact our thriving industry. This year, we will continue to refine our local programs, aggressively promote and support the PAR Initiative, and will proudly continue to serve our diverse membership.”   

“I want to personally thank the members of the Atlanta Chapter for their support of WICT Atlanta in 2007. Our members’ active participation in training, development and networking opportunities helps to cultivate effective leaders and builds stronger relationships in the local cable community,” said Sheri McGaughy, WICT Atlanta’s 2008 President.  “Our local chapter members are fulfilling WICT’s mission ‘to develop women leaders together.’ ”

Chapter of the Year is awarded to the top performing WICT Chapter or Chapters that accumulate the highest number of points possible based on WICT’s Model Chapter Business Plan.  The award for Best Chapter Programming of the Year is awarded to a single WICT Chapter based on the Chapter’s programming achievements in the areas of creativity, innovation, diversity and support of the WICT mission.
